Internet Security

Protecting your computer is important. As technology progresses for good, methods for identity theft and other harmful personal invasions also increase. These methods are most prevalent for the more common used devices such as Windows and Internet Explorer. However, to help keep our computers safe, these companies are developing their own ways to battle security breaches, such as securing browsers.

I myself keep a 24/7 antivirus program up and running, constantly scanning my computer and finding any foreign invaders. Not only is it important to install these programs, but to allow them to update and keep up with the most recent methods to breach your computer.

Although I do have an antivirus program, that does not mean I have a 100% guarantee to not get any viruses. I still have to use my computer and browse the internet the right way. That means not clicking on any random sites and avoiding and deals that seem too good to be true. Because they are.

Meet the Teacher Day

My name is Lindsey Horton and I am currently a sophomore studying Secondary History Education at Brigham Young University.  I first started getting interested in teaching my junior year of high school and have enjoyed working towards my career.  I have a great love for history and am very passionate about the history of the United States.  Other than history, I am also interested in reading, dancing, and photography.

Since this is a progressive and technological society, I hope to be able to incorporate into my curriculum the luxuries and advancements available.  For example, through the use of websites, such as blogs or wikis, I could post homework assignments for those who may have missed class as well as providing video or audio of historical events for students to increase their understanding of the events which we are studying.

I hope to be a teacher who can help other students love history as much as I do and show them just how fascinating the study of men and their societies is.
